Our latest friends can be found at BRX Rescue which has been set up to help find new homes for beautiful black retrievers who aren’t purebred, but who often share the same wonderful qualities as their purebred cousins, the flatcoated retriever, the golden retriever and the border collie.  Many, although not all, of these dogs originate in Ireland, where thousands and thousands of perfectly healthy, often young dogs are destroyed every year.

After the terrible events on September 11th 2001 our hearts also went out to over 350 devoted dogs who lent their super human senses to the search and rescue operations. We learned that one of the dogs named 'Polly' was a collie/golden retriever cross. Retrieve
