About Pete Hodgkins

Pete first started competing in working trials in 1981 with his border collie Jill (Mere Mischief) who qualified quickly into ticket gaining several T.D.Ex's.

The next pup Pete chose was Jet (Karl of Killerby) a black labrador. What a great dog he proved to be, Jet started competing in 1988. On gaining his first T.D.Ex qualification he also won the reserve Ticket and later progressed to become a Working Trials Champion. His greatest achievement was winning the Kennel Club Championships in 1995. Jet competed at the K.C.C's five times, the last one when he was ten and a half years old. Here he qualified with a 3rd place and at this trial Pete retired him. Overall he won 50 T.D.Ex qualifications. Very soon after this event Jet was diagnosed with cancer and his life ended shortly afterwards. Pete says "He was my once in a lifetime dog".

After a 2 year break along came Ali (Windstock Hercules) a flat-coated retriever and is qualifying steadily through the stakes and keeping Pete on his toes! Pete is also kept busy as a Judge at Open and Championship trials, and tracklaying at various venues around the country.
